Intro to "Tried and True Foods"

Hello all, and welcome to "Tried and True Foods."

In the world of Pinterest and being able to Google recipes at the drop of the hat, I often find it hard to know how long a recipe really takes, and if it actually tastes good or if it just looks good in pictures. Even with the multitude of recipes available, I find myself making the same recipes, week after week.

Enter, "Tried and True Foods." My goal with this blog is for it to be more of a recipe swap with what I hope is many people. The ultimate goals of this site is to encourage myself and hopefully readers to break out of cooking ruts and try new foods using relatively simple cooking styles that incorporate a myriad of tastes and healthiness.

In order to help alleviate any concerns to readers that what I consider "easy" requires having studied cooking for many years, I am not a professional cook by any means. I love to bake, and I cook out of necessity; however, I have never studied the culinary arts. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communications and a master's degree in English.

With that being said, I hope you enjoy "Tried and True Foods."
